Our group keeps a keen eye on the growth of our defined benefit pension plan. Many other states face severe pension plan shortages, so it’s important to maintain Delaware’s pension status.
A dignified retirement for school personnel who labored for many years to educate future generations is the main focus of our organization.
As retirees, our medical benefits are not guaranteed. DRSPA advocates strongly for their continuation.
The mission of the Delaware Retired School Personnel Association is to maintain and improve the social, educational, economic and recreational welfare and status of retired educators in the local community, state, and nation.
All Delaware public school retirees, including: bus drivers, cafeteria workers, administrators, guidance counselors, diagnosticians, psychologists, teachers, aides, paraprofessionals, secretaries, clerks, nurses, building level and district administrators, etc.
We welcome retirees from the nineteen school districts, the Department of Education, charter schools and from Delaware Technical and Community College.
Surviving spouses of school personnel retirees may also join.
You are invited to apply for a Partners in Education grant that is being provided by the Delaware Retired School Personnel Association. The goal of this grant offering is to assist teachers in improving student performance in one or more subject areas.
